Remember five vears ago how many tandems you'd see on the road? Compare that with the number of tandems being used today. There must be a reason so many people are riding tandems, and raises two more questions: Why do they go so fast and why do those people seem to be having such a good time? Tandems continue to gain popularity because they are, quite simply, fun. Two people of differing riding abilities are totally compatible on a tandem. And yes, they are fast because four legs power the weight of a bike and a half.
Teesdale tandems fit. Tom takes the measurements of each rider's single bike and incorporates those into specific top tube and seat tube lengths. The results are extraordinary. Both riders are comfortable, and life is too darn short to be uncomfortable.
For a small up charge, you can get a really lightweight aluminum tandem. Although weight is not as important on a tandem, you'll easily notice the difference when you accelerate and corner. All aluminum tandems are a direct lateral design.
